In the wildlife rich south-western corner of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi in Kafue National Park a new camp has recently opened: Nanzhila’s Lake Camp. 3 chalets overlooking the confluence of the Musa River and Lake Itezhi-Tezhi. Neatly tagged away between large Jackalberry Trees ensuring that the guests can enjoy the utmost privacy.
Nanzhila’s Lake Camp is the only camp in central Kafue National Park that is open all year around. It’s just a 4 hours drive from Livingstone and about 5 hours from Lusaka. The ideal camp to dash in to the wilderness and to escape the urban stress. Leaving the noise behind. Sounds you might hear while in camp are the roaring of the Lions at night. Early in the morning the Spurfowls will call to welcome the new day. You can stay at camp or head out on a game drive to see what Kafue NP has for you.
A usual day at the camp starts with an early tea or coffee and some rusks. Afterwards it’s time to head out on game drive. Looking for tracks, listening to the bird calls or just indulging in the scenery and fresh air. You return to camp in time for brunch. Sit back and relax. Enjoy the view. Maybe going out for another game drive in the late afternoon? It’s all up to you.
