South Luangwa is one of the best if not THE best safari destination in Africa. A safari to this national park offers spectacular game viewing, very knowledgeable guides and excellent value for money. This itinerary has 3 nights in an area close to the main gate which offers very good sightings and 2 nights in the more remote Nsefu sector. This safaris is available from May - November.

Itineraries
Day 1 - 3
Arrival in Mfuwe and 3 nights stay at Flatdogs Camp
On arrival at Mfuwe Airport you will be met and transferred to Flatdogs Camp. It's roughly a 30min drive. Mfuwe Airport is serviced by scheduled flights from Lusaka.
You will stay the first 3 nights of your safari at Flatdogs Camp, in a Luxury Tent. Includes are meals, 2 game viewing activities (morning and evening game drives, walking safari) per day and national park and conservation fees.
Flatdogs Camp is on the banks of the Luangwa River. It is one of the closest camps to the national park entrance. The Luangwa River is the natural park boundary and the camp is next to an elephant crossing point. All Luxury Tents offer great views over the river.
Day 4 - 5
Transfer to Nsefu and 2 nights at Zikomo Safari Lodge
Today you will be transferred to Zikomo Safari Lodge. The drive is about 90min passing through some villages near Mfuwe and you can get a glimpse of the everyday life here.
The chalets at Zikomo Safari Lodge are made from locally sourced materials. The thatched roofs make sure that it will never get hot inside. The outdoor showers allow you to bath under the stars.
This lodge is located on the edge of the Nsefu Sector of the Luangwa National Park and got it's own entry point to the park. Right in front of the lodge is a floodplain where Puku's are grazing and predators try to ambush.
You will stay for 2 nights here. Includes are meals, 2 game viewing activities per day and national park and conservation fees.
Day 6
Departure
Your safari ends today and you will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport in time for your onward flight.
