Nanzhila Lake Camp, situated on the serene shores of Lake Itezhi-tezhi in Zambia's Kafue National Park, offers an intimate safari experience focused on the rich wildlife of the southern region. The camp features four tented chalets, including a family chalet, each overlooking the Musa River and lake shoreline, providing guests with unobstructed views of the floodplain and a constant flow of wildlife.
The area is renowned for its abundance of mega herbivores such as elephants, buffalo, and hippos, which are more prevalent here than in other parts of the park. The open floodplains and shorelines around Lake Itezhi-tezhi create a stunning backdrop for wildlife viewing.
Guests can enjoy activities like game drives and visits to the Elephant Orphanage, with many excursions exploring the picturesque lake shoreline and floodplains. The camp's design emphasizes comfort while maintaining an authentic bush experience, featuring en-suite bathrooms, mosquito-netted beds, and expansive covered verandahs that serve as personal game-viewing decks.
Nanzhila Lake Camp is open from March to mid-January and is conveniently located approximately 3.5 hours north of Nanzhila Plains Camp, making it an excellent addition to a Southern Kafue safari itinerary.
